As part of its efforts to improve Dubai's standing as a destination for maritime tourism worldwide, the Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA) held a workshop with representatives from marinas throughout the Emirate in early May. The workshop focused on enhancing service delivery standards and building an operational framework to support the sustainable growth of Dubai's marine tourism industry.

Organised under the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, the workshop reflects DMA’s commitment to empowering the business community and simplifying regulatory procedures.
Workshop participants went over operational protocols, including documentation requirements for services such as “passenger pick-up and drop-off”, permitted service durations at each marina and expected response times.
DMA directors also presented a series of proposed digital solutions designed to build secure interactions between clients and marina personnel. The presented solutions aim to increase service efficiency and improve the experience for maritime visitors. Discussions also covered specific procedures for "dock & dine" and other short-stay services, underlining the need for streamlined workflows and consistent service expectations.
CEO of DMA, Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, highlighted the importance of collaboration between stakeholders. “We believe in the value of forging strong partnerships with the private sector to develop innovative, sustainable solutions. We are proud of the role each marina plays in helping us realise this shared vision.”
The event concluded with an open Q&A session, where attendees shared feedback and offered recommendations to further enhance the readiness and appeal of Dubai’s marina infrastructure for international visitors.
