The Donji Grad river marina in Osijek opened on 3 December 2025. The €2.86 million (approximately $3.3 million USD) project by the Port Authority of Osijek aims to enhance recreational and tourism opportunities and improve public access to the river.

The marina will provide 175 new berths along the River Drava and add facilities along the riverfront for residents and visitors.
The State Secretary at the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Žarko Tušek, attended the opening and said the marina is a “long-awaited investment expected to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Osijek”. He also stated that the River Drava is an “important feature of the city, offering economic, recreational and social value”, and added that the marina will serve tourism and local residents.
Iva Horvat, Director of the Osijek Port Authority, explained that residents of Donji Grad had been waiting for a place to moor their vessels and that the new quay now forms a functional and visual connection with Osijek’s upgraded promenade.
After the marina opening, Tušek visited the construction site of the new bulk cargo terminal at the Port of Osijek. The project will feature 240 metres of quay with two berths, an access road, railway tracks, a cargo-handling system and all associated port infrastructure.
