Demre Marina has officially opened in Antalya’s Demre district, providing 700 berths and contributing to Türkiye’s national yacht mooring capacity. The marina supports the country’s growing maritime infrastructure and efforts to expand tourism for both local and international yachting.

The marina is positioned along the Mediterranean coast, near landmarks such as the Church of Saint Nicholas, the Museum of Lycian Civilisations and Aquarium Bay. It also sits close to ancient settlements, including Tyberissos and Istlada. The surrounding area has additional points of interest such as Pirate’s Cave, Beymelek Lagoon and Kaleköy-Kekova.
Demre Marina offers a mooring capacity of 450 vessels at sea and 250 on land. These facilities accommodate both short-term visits and longer stays, supporting year-round yacht tourism activity.

According to a report by Hurriyet Daily News, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the inauguration of the marina, stating that Türkiye’s total mooring capacity now approaches 26,000.
Since 2002, the country has increased its number of yacht ports from 41 to 64. New and existing marinas now stretch along key coastal points, including Yalova, Seferihisar, Didim and Mersin. In Antalya province, marinas have already been launched in Alanya, Kaş and Gazipaşa.
The launch of Demre Marina adds further capacity to Türkiye’s maritime tourism infrastructure. It also reflects continued investment in regional development through transport and tourism, with a focus on long-term sustainability and economic impact.
