Dart Marina, located along the River Dart in Devon, England, has received official approval for its proposed expansion. The Marine Management Organisation has granted a licence to Dart Marina Limited, with construction scheduled for the winter season to limit disruption to regular harbour activities.

The project includes the removal of five existing piles and the installation of seven new ones to support a revised layout for Piers B, C and D. As part of the plan, Piers C and D will be extended to create seven additional berths, while the Pier B hammerhead will be shortened to improve the use of space.

The development aims to increase berthing capacity, improve marina access and support local tourism and leisure activities in the area. Dart Marina offers annual, seasonal and short-stay berths with direct access to Dartmouth’s town centre and waterfront.

The site also offers deep-water moorings in a riverside location with access controlled by key card entry. Nearby services include chandlers, marine engineers, riggers, sailmakers and lift-out facilities, while the River Dart fuel barge operates close to the marina.

Located around 85 nautical miles from Cherbourg and 70 nautical miles from St Peter Port in Guernsey, Dart Marina serves vessels travelling from Brittany via the Channel Islands. The approved development is expected to increase berthing options and contribute to marine activity along Devon’s wider coastal tourism network.
