Construction of the Foxland Harbour Marina has officially begun following the recent lease approval by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Nashville District.

The marina will feature 184 wet slips, a 126-space parking lot, dry storage, a fuel dock, a restaurant and dedicated launching areas for canoes and kayaks. The marina will be accessible via Douglas Bend Road and is being developed by Foxland Harbour Marina, LLC, under a long-term lease agreement with the Corps.
Located on Old Hickory Lake in Gallatin, Tennessee, the new marina aims to improve public access, offer recreational boating facilities and support local economic growth. Phase 1 of the project includes grading and utility installations, along with the development of a water quality basin to mitigate potential environmental impacts.

The planning process began with a Notice of Availability (NOA) issued in April 2023, inviting proposals for three competing sites in Sumner and Wilson Counties. Foxland Harbour was the only site to receive a qualifying proposal.
Following an environmental review in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the USACE released a Draft Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) in October 2024.
Two public meetings were held on 8 April and 24 October, 2024. The meetings allowed residents and stakeholders to express feedback and concerns. The final environmental assessment was completed after reviewing all submitted comments.
On March 6, 2025, the Corps executed the final lease agreement, greenlighting construction. According to Nick Norals, realty specialist with the USACE, “The Corps of Engineers is committed to ensuring that projects like Foxland Harbour Marina align with the public interest and environmental best practices. We are grateful for the public’s engagement throughout this process. Their feedback has helped shape the project to better serve the community while protecting Old Hickory Lake’s natural resources.”
USACE has extended its scoping comment period through April 15, 2024, for additional feedback regarding the project. Once complete, the marina is expected to serve as a recreational and tourism hub for the Old Hickory Lake area, encouraging boating, outdoor leisure and waterfront dining. Construction is set to continue through 2025, with the USACE maintaining oversight in collaboration with the developers and local agencies.
