Clyde Marina has secured its long-term future at Ardrossan Harbour in North Ayrshire, Scotland, after signing a heads of terms agreement with Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) and Peel Waters Group UK Ltd. The agreement follows CMAL’s acquisition of the harbour and confirms that marina and boatyard operations will continue while redevelopment work progresses across the site.

CMAL acquired Ardrossan Harbour on behalf of the Scottish Government in March 2026, including the full harbour area, the Arran and Irish ferry berths, linkspans, car park, marshalling area, parts of the boatyard land and the approach road. The company now plans to redevelop the Arran ferry terminal and harbour infrastructure.
Clyde Marina provides 280 berths along with on-site services including fuel, waste disposal, maintenance support and utilities, as well as food and retail outlets.
The site’s boatyards include lifting and handling equipment such as a 50-tonne travel hoist, a 20-tonne boat mover and a 25-tonne crane. It also offers hardstanding areas with service points and storage space, including undercover storage for vessels up to 20 tonnes.
Simon Limb, managing director of Clyde Marina, said: “We welcome CMAL’s very positive approach to working with the marina, to secure the growth and development of the harbour area as a whole, continuing Ardrossan’s maritime heritage for many years to come. We understand that the ferry facility’s redevelopment will be complex. Clyde Marina and its boatyards will continue to operate normally throughout this period, enhancing North Ayrshire’s tourism economy and supporting local businesses.”
Kevin Hobbs, chief executive of CMAL, said: “This agreement marks an important step in securing the long-term future of Clyde Marina within Ardrossan Harbour. It reflects our shared commitment to supporting sustainable growth and investment in the harbour, while recognising the valuable contribution the marina makes to the local economy and wider community.”
