Chios Marina S.A. of the Tefas Group has officially signed a contract with AGT Engineering & Services to construct the long-awaited Chios Marina, marking a step forward in the island’s tourism and infrastructure development.

Located 2 kilometres from the city of Chios, the new marina project is set for completion by the end of 2026. Once operational, the marina will feature 133 berths for vessels up to 30-metres in length and will be equipped with an 80-tonne travel lift. The marina is designed to accommodate both leisure and utility, and offer onshore facilities including modern dining venues and retail spaces ranging from local goods to maritime equipment.

The development of the marina comes after five years of planning, with final permits and studies completed. The contract was signed in November 2024 in the presence of central and local government representatives. The project is now moving into the construction phase, seen as an element of the broader regeneration of Chios’ coastal zone. Combined with upgrades to the airport and port, the initiative aims to position Chios as a leading destination for shipping and marine tourism in the Aegean.

AGT Engineering’s appointment reflects the company’s strong reputation for reliability within Greece’s construction sector. The company described the agreement as confirmation of market confidence in its expertise and consistency.
Chios Marina S.A., part of the Tefas Group, brings over two decades of experience in marina development and management, including projects in Preveza and Aktion. Managing Director Vassilis Tefas added that the marina will enhance marine tourism, support local employment and prioritise environmental sustainability and collaboration with the island’s community.
The construction of the Chios Marina is now underway and stands as a milestone in transforming the island’s coastal infrastructure. Residents and visitors alike can look forward to a facility that supports tourism and economic growth.
