Çeşme Marina on Turkey’s Aegean coast has reached an environmental milestone by securing International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) accreditation. The certification confirms that the marina's entire electricity consumption in 2024, which amounted to 3,414 MWh, was sourced from renewable energy, reflecting its role as a regional leader in sustainable marina operations.

The I-REC Standard is an internationally recognised framework that verifies renewable electricity usage through a transparent certification system. By adhering to the system, Çeşme Marina ensures that all its power comes from clean sources such as wind, solar or hydro energy. The achievement reflects a commitment to reducing environmental impact and operating in line with global sustainability benchmarks.

In addition to its certified electricity use, Çeşme Marina is taking further steps to minimise its environmental footprint. Plans are underway to implement a seawater treatment plant based on reverse osmosis technology, with completion targeted for the end of 2025. The initiative is expected to reduce reliance on freshwater resources and contribute to more efficient water management across the marina.
Owned and operated by Camper & Nicholsons Marinas and IC Holdings, Çeşme Marina combines service with a strong environmental focus. The marina features 400 berths, a fully serviced boatyard equipped with an 80-tonne travel hoist, a 20-tonne boat mover and storage ashore for up to 100 yachts. A 300-metre breakwater ensures a secure entrance to the marina, which spans 88-metres in width.

The latest sustainability certification complements Çeşme Marina’s broader environmental strategy, which aligns with efforts to lead by example in sustainable marina development while maintaining a quality of experience for yacht owners and visitors alike.
