Cala del Forte, the marina located in Ventimiglia and operated by Monaco Ports, has appointed Marco Cornacchia as its new Chief Executive Officer. The transition will take effect on 1 August 2025, following the conclusion of Giovanni Battista Borea d’Olmo’s mandate.

Cornacchia, 59, has served as Director of Cala del Forte since 2018 and has worked closely with Borea d’Olmo throughout the marina’s development. Originally from Rimini, he brings over four decades of experience in competitive sailing and marina management. His career highlights include participation in the 1992 Louis Vuitton Cup aboard Il Moro di Venezia and leadership roles at Marina di Loano and Marina di Rimini.
As CEO, Cornacchia will oversee a facility that has become a key part of the northern Mediterranean yachting network. Cala del Forte offers 180 berths for vessels ranging from 6.5 to 76 metres, along with a fuel station, superyacht shipyard, black water pump-out services and electric charging points for both cars and boats. The marina is equipped with mooring assistance, camera surveillance and a shuttle linking directly to Port Hercule in Monaco.

Borea d’Olmo, 75, is stepping down after a career spanning over 50 years. He played a central role in guiding Cala del Forte from concept to its 2021 inauguration, contributing to its positioning in the international yachting market. Prior to his time in Ventimiglia, he served as general manager of Monaco Ports for 15 years and led Porto Rotondo in Sardinia for more than two decades. His background includes naval service, having joined the Italian Naval Academy in 1968 and later winning the Tenerife-Bermuda transatlantic regatta in 1976 as Executive Officer aboard Stella Polare. He remains active in sailing aboard Vistona, a 1937 family yacht.
Cornacchia’s long-standing involvement with Cala del Forte and his collaboration with Borea d’Olmo are expected to support strategic and operational continuity as the marina moves into its next phase.
