Legendary Blue Water Cay began operations following a soft opening on 1 December 2025, in Nassau, The Bahamas. The move marks the first stage of a wider waterfront project, with the marina opening ahead of other areas of the site.

The development is part of a mixed-use waterfront project spanning more than 50 acres on a peninsula southeast of Nassau, with access to the Out Islands and the capital.

Marina operations kicked off with a forklift on site, which can haul out vessels up to 55ft (17 metres), including the Viking Valhalla. The facility currently offers around 60 wet slips and 300 dry slips.

Further development planned for 2026 includes an expansion of marina capacity, with wet slips set to increase to approximately 120 and dry slips to 600. The same phase also includes the installation of a 250-tonne travel lift expected to handle vessels up to 140ft (43 metres).

The planned marina services include shore power, pump-out access, on-site security and a Category 5 hurricane-rated dry storage building, with customs and immigration services anticipated to begin in March 2026.

In an interview with Marina World, Jonathan Matalon, General Manager at Legendary Blue Water Cay, said: “We’re building one of the largest marinas in the Caribbean, and we’re innovative in the space and revolutionising the way boating happens here in the Bahamas. The goal is to become a boater’s community where you can have your boat here and also stay ashore, a boater’s paradise all in one.”

Once marina development reaches full scope, attention will shift to the land side of the project, including villas, bungalows, a clubhouse, a gym, restaurants and pool areas.

The project’s grand opening is scheduled for April 2026. Marina operations will continue as development progresses across the remaining phases of the site.
