Argo Yacht Group has signed a reciprocal membership agreement with Sea Engineering Okinawa, adding Ginowan Marina and Yonabaru Marina to its international network and expanding access to marina facilities for members travelling between Taiwan and Okinawa, Japan.
Ginowan Marina sits on the main island’s west coast, a short distance from the city centre, hotels and the waterfront. The marina also serves as a gateway to diving, snorkelling and fishing areas, including the Kerama Islands as well as Zamami, Tokashiki, Tonaki, Aguni and Kume islands.
The site can accommodate more than 340 wet berths and over 290 dry storage spaces, with facilities including fuel stations, water and electricity supply points, 15-tonne and 35-tonne belt cranes and vehicle parking areas.
Located in Nakagusuku Bay on the east coast, Yonabaru Marina is protected by a long breakwater and provides access to nearby destinations, including three UNESCO World Heritage castle sites. The facility can accommodate more than 170 vessels across offshore berths, land storage spaces and dinghy berths, and offers fuelling facilities, floating piers, boatyard services and vehicle parking.
Under the agreement, ARGO members and yacht owners travelling between Taiwan and Okinawa will be able to access membership benefits at marinas on both sides of the island, including sailing, berthing and marine leisure options. The available benefits will depend on the arrangements between both parties and the operating policies of each marina.
ARGO connects six marinas across Taiwan in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Penghu and Keelung, creating what the company describes as Taiwan’s only “maritime leisure corridor”. The network reached Keelung through the Badouzi Yacht Berthing Area Public-Private Partnership Project, signed in December 2025, with an initial investment expected to exceed $2 billion NT ($63 million USD).
