Inverclyde Council has welcomed the UK Government’s announcement of £20 million in funding for Inchgreen Marine Park and Dry Dock. The funding comes from the Growth Mission Fund and was confirmed on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, in the autumn budget statement.

Councillor McCabe said: “This is a vote of confidence by the UK Government in not only the potential for Inchgreen Marine Park and the historic dry dock but in the huge potential for Inverclyde as a whole and today’s announcement is very much welcome.”

The funding will support ongoing redevelopment at Inchgreen Marine Park, a joint venture between Inverclyde Council and Clydeport Operations Limited, a subsidiary of Peel Ports Group. The project aims to attract new businesses and create employment opportunities, working alongside the Ministry of Defence.

The facility has previously received £11 million through the Glasgow City Region City Deal, jointly funded by the UK and Scottish Governments, as well as support from Clyde Mission. The investment upgraded the site’s infrastructure with new access roads, lighting, fencing and security. Utilities were improved, the dredge depth increased to 8.5 metres, quay walls were reinforced and land was cleared for development.

Councillor McCabe said: “This additional investment from the government is a momentous moment in the ongoing redevelopment of Inchgreen and takes us another massive step closer to realising our shared ambition of attracting work and jobs to the site.”

An Inchgreen Marine Park spokesperson commented: “We have worked and will continue to work with colleagues in the Department of Business and Trade, the Treasury and the Ministry of Defence to ensure that this national asset, in the west coast of Scotland, realises its full potential for regeneration in the maritime sector within Inverclyde.”
