Ithmaar Development Company (IDC) has selected United Marine Trading (UMT), a specialist in marina design, construction and maintenance, to design and build the floating pontoon facilities at Dilmunia Marina in Bahrain.

Dilmunia Marina is located on the northern side of Dilmunia and will cover an area of around 15,000 sqm. The marina is planned to accommodate 118 vessels, including 68 berths for boats up to 13 metres in length, as well as a dry storage area with capacity for 50 vessels.
A further 10 berths have been allocated for jet skis, while a public walkway will run around the marina basin, allowing access throughout the waterfront area.
UMT will work alongside Poralu Marine and Rolec Services on the design, engineering, fabrication and installation of modular floating pontoons extending approximately 580 metres.
The marina is planned to support docking, water-based recreation and leisure use within Dilmunia. Construction at the site began in January 2026, and the facility is expected to be completed and begin operations in May 2026.
Bassam Hajj, general manager of UMT, said: “Dilmunia Marina is a unique project tailored to suit the requirements of Dilmunia. We worked closely with the IDC team in designing and executing this state-of-the-art marina that will stand out among other floating marinas in Bahrain, whereby we are combining luxurious quality with the latest international standards.”
The Dilmunia Marina appointment follows United Marine Trading’s involvement in another marina project in the Kingdom. In April 2025, Bahrain Marina Development Company selected the firm to work on the Bahrain Marina project.
