Suntex Marinas has acquired Two Georges Marina in Shalimar, Florida, adding another property to its portfolio along the Emerald Coast. Following the acquisition, the marina has been renamed Shalimar Harbor Marina, a reference to its location and its connection to the town of Shalimar.

The acquisition was announced on 21 January 2026 and was completed through Suntex Marina Investors LLC in partnership with Centerbridge Partners, L.P. and its affiliates. The marina adds to Suntex’s presence in the Emerald Coast market, where it already operates Legendary Marina in Destin.

Located about one mile from the Intracoastal Waterway and close to Destin Pass, the marina offers access to boating routes and coastal waters across the Florida Panhandle.

The marina adds 134 wet slips and 190 dry rack storage spaces to Suntex’s Florida holdings. Facilities at the site include a fuel dock, a ship’s store and marine services that support routine boating and marina activities.

Sam Chavers, senior vice president operations at Suntex Marinas, said: “Shalimar Harbor Marina is a perfect fit for the Suntex family. With both covered and uncovered wet slips, along with protected dry storage, the marina offers versatile options for our customers. Its prime location and amenities align with our mission to deliver the best boating experiences in the most sought-after destinations.”

Operations at the marina will continue with familiar faces. George and Amanda Fussell will remain on site, running an independent sales and service business under the Two Georges Marine name. The business will continue to offer haul-out services, maintenance and repairs, repowers and retail boat sales.

George Fussell Jr. said: “We are excited to continue serving our local community through Two Georges Marine and to provide the same five-star, family-run hospitality our customers have come to know and love.”

Tommy Hearden, investment manager at Suntex Marinas, commented: “We look forward to welcoming boaters and setting a new benchmark for experiences on and off the water.”
