Biras Marina on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands is the first international venture for Mirazur Capital and Marina Port Vell since the former took a majority stake in the Barcelona marina last June, with plans to apply its operating model and service standards at the superyacht marina.

Biras Marina

Set in North Sound as part of Biras Creek Resort, Biras Marina serves both short and long stays with 20 mooring buoys and 25 berths for vessels up to 70 metres long. The marina provides owners and crews with water and electricity supplies, vessel cleaning and catering, alongside the resort’s villas, restaurants, multi-brand boutique and helipad.

Mirazur Capital took a majority stake in Marina Port Vell last June with plans to grow the marina business, consolidate Barcelona’s position as a centre for the superyacht sector and develop an international marina network. As part of that expansion, Marina Port Vell will extend its operating model and service standards to the Caribbean for the first time, applying its experience in hosting superyachts up to 190 metres.

Ignacio Erroz, managing director of Marina Port Vell commented: “This project is a milestone for Marina Port Vell and a recognition of the work carried out over recent years. Our aim is to bring a proven operational model to Biras Marina, one capable of enhancing the experience of owners, skippers and crews and raising operational and service standards in the Caribbean.”

Marcos Pellejero Ibáñez, managing partner at Mirazur Capital, said: “The addition of Biras Marina to our portfolio represents a major step forward in our growth strategy and creates a highly valuable strategic link between Barcelona and the Caribbean, both for our clients and for the growth of our network.”
