Mirazur Capital, a Monaco-based alternative investment management firm, has become the majority shareholder in Barcelona’s Marina Port Vell as it seeks to expand its portfolio of marinas across the Mediterranean.

Marina Port Vell caters to the international superyacht market with 73 berths for vessels up to 190 metres in length and a 400-metre quay, which is described as one of the longest in the region.
More than €20 million (approximately $22.8 million USD) has been invested in the marina since 2021, expanding its facilities for larger vessels, improving operational and sustainability standards, and supporting Barcelona’s role as a superyacht destination.
General manager Ignacio Erroz and the existing management team will continue to lead Marina Port Vell as Mirazur Capital pursues its long-term plans for the business.
Erroz stated: “The involvement of Mirazur Capital is a recognition of the work carried out by the whole team over recent years and gives us the means to continue growing, whilst maintaining the excellence that defines us.”
Erroz added that the transaction demonstrates strength in the model developed in Barcelona: “We are embarking on this new phase with the ambition of consolidating Barcelona’s position as one of the world’s leading centres for the sector and spearheading the development of the platform.”

With offices in Madrid and Luxembourg, Mirazur Capital manages more than €1 billion ($1.1 million) in assets and invests across public and private markets. The company said the acquisition supports its strategy of investing in premium marinas in established nautical destinations, with the Mediterranean as its primary market.
Marcos Pellejero Ibáñez, managing partner of Mirazur Capital, stated: “It is rare to have the opportunity to invest in a truly irreplaceable asset: a unique location in the heart of Barcelona, an internationally renowned brand and an extraordinary team.”
Ibáñez said the firm’s long-term approach is to “raise industry standards, drive its professionalisation and establish it as an institutional asset class.”
