Initially reported in the Tribuna de México on 4 August 2025, ASIPONA will be hiring a private security company consisting of at least 20 personnel to reinforce surveillance of the port area. There are plans to modernise CCTV, including replacing existing cameras and installing new devices, as well as upgrading lighting to improve the security of both tourists and port workers.

During a meeting with the Los Cabos Coordinating Council, the organisation's executive president, Julio Castillo Gómez, reported that ASIPONA now has the legal authority and the available budget to begin investing in priority projects within the port area.

It was also reported that renovating tourist walkways and remodelling the port building are planned, with the goal of improving the facility’s urban image and functionality.

According to ASIPONA, these developments are part of a strategy to ensure that Marina Cabo San Lucas - which is operated by IGY Marinas - maintains its position as the fourth most popular tourist port in Mexico boasting the highest number of cruise ship arrivals.
