Following a first pile-laying ceremony in February 2026, Marina de Lagos in Portugal’s Algarve region has continued work on the Marina de Lagos & Yacht Club project, with new pontoons and additional berths planned for delivery in phases.

Marina de Lagos

The marina currently provides over 470 berths, supported by facilities that include controlled access to pontoons, waste disposal, fuel supply, concierge services, a pump-out station and transport arrangements.

Earlier this month, the marina shared that a new facility for small recreational and maritime tourism vessels has reached its final stage of installation. It will provide more than 170 berths, with the pontoons expected to become operational in the coming weeks.

The project also includes dedicated pontoons for the professional fishing fleet, which have already been completed and are now in use.

At the same time, work is underway on an additional 100 berths at the marina. This phase is scheduled for completion in September 2026, ahead of the low season contracts.

The marina described the investment as supporting the wider maritime economy in Lagos, referring to a business cluster of more than 100 companies operating in nautical services, maritime tourism, boat maintenance, retail and specialised support services. It said activity within this network generates around €30 million ($34 million USD) in annual turnover and contributes to employment in the area.
