Imperial Wharf Marina, a non-residential mooring facility in central London, has completed a new pontoon extension that almost doubles its capacity for leisure vessels. The project features a second line along the riverbank side of the marina with a linkspan connecting it to the main landing pontoon.

Opened in 2011, Imperial Wharf Marina sits on the north shore of the River Thames in front of the Imperial Wharf development, adjacent to Chelsea Harbour and close to King’s Road and Sloane Square. Its latest expansion adds a 270-metre line of floating pontoons, creating around 530 metres of berthing space for leisure vessels.

Beckett Rankine, which also worked on the design of the original marina, was commissioned to develop the concept for the extension and supervise its construction. According to the company, its role included planning support, technical advice, the design of the mooring piles and the management of licences and consents.

TopBond installed the mooring piles in June 2025, before Livetts Group completed the pontoon installation in July 2026 using pontoons and a linkspan designed and fabricated by Inland & Coastal Marina Systems to match the existing marina.
