Fairhope Docks Marina has received Clean and Resilient Marina status after meeting environmental and storm-readiness standards under a Gulf Coast programme. The designation was announced on Wednesday, 14 January 2026.

City of Fairhope

The marina is owned and operated by the City of Fairhope and sits on Fly Creek at the end of Sea Cliff Drive. It provides covered and open slips, a fuel dock, a pump-out station, bathroom and laundry facilities, long-term and transient berthing, and a kayak launch for residents and visitors.

According to a report by Hal Scheurich of FOX10 News, the designation reflects more than a decade of work to meet programme requirements focused on protecting waterways and preparing for hurricanes and other natural disasters. The Clean and Resilient Marina programme operates across the Gulf states and is administered by the Gulf of America Alliance alongside the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium.

To qualify, Fairhope Docks Marina met 11 requirements covering waste handling, fuel management, cleaning practices and emergency planning.

In a statement shared by the City of Fairhope, the designation was described as “recognition of the marina’s efforts in pollution prevention, habitat protection and practices intended to protect coastal waters for the community”.
