Situated on Lake Oconee, the marina serves boaters from Atlanta, Athens and surrounding areas. The facility offers dry stack storage for vessels up to nine metres (30ft), outdoor yard storage and on-site fuel services. It also includes a ship store providing bait and ice, as well as pontoon boat rentals.

Bowline Marinas said it plans to invest in improvements for marina customers, including upgraded staging docks. The company also intends to collaborate with the local community by sourcing business and food vendors to operate on site.

The Lake Oconee acquisition follows a series of recent transactions for Bowline Marinas in 2025. In June, the company purchased Shem Creek Marina in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. In August, it acquired Bay Pines Marina in St. Petersburg, Florida.
