TransEurope Marinas has announced a partnership with digital marine navigation provider Savvy Navvy. The agreement introduces new navigation-related features across the TransEurope Marinas website.

TransEurope Marinas

TransEurope Marinas operates a network of marinas across eleven European countries, representing close to 45,000 berths. Founded nearly 40 years ago, the organisation was originally established to support independent marinas on both sides of the Channel.

Expansion later extended across the Iberian Peninsula, Ireland and the Netherlands. Membership grew to include marinas in southern and northern Europe, including Greece, Croatia, Italy, Montenegro and the Baltic region.

Updates have been made to individual marina profile pages on the TransEurope Marinas website as part of the partnership. Each profile now features a Savvy Navvy chart view covering a five-minute radius around the marina entrance. Information shown includes water depths, navigational aids, seabed characteristics and nearby anchorages.

Routing information between marinas is also available on the website. Details include distances, estimated passage times for different vessel speeds, route images and written descriptions. Weather conditions, tidal data and boat characteristics are factored into the calculations, with guidance offered on suitable departure times.

A cluster of marinas in the Solent area currently has access to routing suggestions, with an intention to extend this across the network.

Savvy Navvy’s Head of Partnership and Innovation, David Cusworth, said: “This partnership is fundamentally about cooperation over competition. We recognise that the strength of the TransEurope network lies in a group of internationally connected marinas, dedicated to offering great service and advancing the sector.”
