Sydney’s boating community welcomes a new development with the opening of Marina Bayside, a purpose-built $20 million AUD facility at Taren Point in the Sutherland Shire. Located minutes from Sydney Harbour, the marina is set to become a central point for boat owners, marine businesses and enthusiasts.

Marina Bayside

Built across a 10,000sqm site, Marina Bayside can store up to 160 vessels, including boats up to 40ft (12 metres). It offers undercover dry boat storage with direct water access. The site also includes a repair and refit centre as well as a 65-tonne travel lift.

The facility’s hard stand area provides space for marine work in all weather conditions. Services such as anti-fouling, detailing, insurance work and refits are available on-site, supported by monitoring and digital scheduling for boat launches.

To mark its opening, Marina Bayside will host the Southern Sydney Marine Expo on Saturday, 8 November 2025, from 10:00 to 16:00. The event will feature demonstrations, educational sessions and networking opportunities for the public.

Dane Wheeler, spokesperson for the Southern Sydney Marine Expo stated: “The Southern Sydney Marine Expo isn’t just about boats, it’s about celebrating the culture, lifestyle and innovation that define Sydney’s marine community. With Marina Bayside, we’ve created a space that truly elevates what it means to be on the water and we can’t wait to unveil it to everyone on Saturday November 8.”

As Sydney’s largest marine facility of its kind, Marina Bayside is expected to boost local marine activity and serve as a cornerstone for boating and maritime services in the region.
