Red Sea Global (RSG) has received operator licences for AMAALA Marina and Shura Marina from the Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA), just a week after the developer launched Yachting Network, its marina and yacht club operator on the Red Sea coast.

Eng. Mohammed Bukhari, vice president of coastal tourism operations at SRSA, presented the licences to Raed Albasseet, group chief environment and sustainability officer at RSG, in Riyadh. The licences mean both marinas can begin operations under SRSA standards, which include rules for marina management and measures to protect the Red Sea’s coral reefs and marine biodiversity.

Specialising in transient and superyacht berthing, AMAALA Marina of the AMAALA destination has 119 berths, while Shura Marina at The Red Sea destination has 159 berths for residential and recreational boaters. Both are on Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast, about 2,000 nautical miles from Monaco, and can accommodate superyachts of up to 120 metres.

Albasseet stated: “AMAALA and Shura Marinas are designed to meet the expectations of the world’s most sophisticated travelers. From superyacht berthing to seamless marine services, we are disrupting the traditional global yachting circuit by introducing a new seasonal home for the world’s most discerning yacht owners and operators.”

Eng. Bukhari commented: “Through close collaboration with Red Sea Global, we are ensuring that AMAALA Marina and Shura Marina align with best-in-class standards, supporting the sustainable growth of Saudi Arabia’s coastal tourism sector and enhancing its global competitiveness.”

AMAALA Marina and Shura Marina are the first two sites in Yachting Network, the marina and yacht club operator RSG launched last week ahead of its start this winter. The network will serve yacht owners, charter guests, captains and crew, and provide a closer Red Sea alternative for yachts that traditionally travel from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean or Indian Ocean for winter.
