The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC) has enhanced its Wigwam Inn with a full installation of VoltSafe Marine, a cutting-edge shore power system developed by Canadian tech company VoltSafe Inc. The deployment covers every slip at the facility and represents the company’s largest full-scale pre-commercial installation to date.

Situated at the head of Burrard Inlet’s Indian Arm, Wigwam Inn blends history with modern amenities. The facility offers hiking trails, landscaped gardens, adult lounging areas and facilities such as kayaks, BBQs, washrooms and hot showers. With the new plug-and-play shore power pedestals in place, members now benefit from a safer and more intuitive docking experience.

The installation supports RVYC’s broader sustainability goals and practices. All nine of its facilities, including the Wigwam Inn, are Clean Marine BC certified, with two achieving five-anchor and the remainder four-anchor ratings.

Safety and smarter energy efficiency are paramount in driving waves of change towards a truly sustainable marina ecosystem; this is something RVYC shares with VoltSafe as a core value. We believe the installation at Wigwam will provide an exceptional experience for both our members and our staff and underscore our commitment to making marina operations safe and efficient.”

Trevor Burgess, VoltSafe CEO and Co-Founder, stated, “RVYC isn’t just looking to future-proof their marinas; they’ve actively worked with us to shape the marinas of tomorrow. As a result, we are seeing marinas like RVYC scaling with us. By utilising our prongless blueprint (VoltSafe Technology), we’ve been able to overcome the longstanding challenges that have plagued all marinas. That’s the power of 0 to 1 innovations like VoltSafe’s. The result? Marinas are able to operate with an increasingly frictionless stakeholder experience that delivers unprecedented safety, control, and overall peace of mind. Utilising VoltSafe’s plug-and-play shore power pedestals, RVYC is able to provide its members with the safest and most intuitive shore power experience available, while benefiting from lower energy consumption and reduced yearly operating costs.”
