Ports de les Illes Balears (PortsIB) has selected Astilleros Amilibia to replace two floating pontoons at the Port of Sant Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza, Spain. The €736,890 ($820,000 USD) contract covers works expected to take four months under the authority’s port maintenance programme.

The port is located on Ibiza’s western coast, closest to the Iberian Peninsula. Growing recreational boating activity has made it one of the most visited ports in the Balearic Islands, serving recreational and fishing vessels alongside commercial operations. The Balearic Islands government directly manages 245 berths at the site, including five reserved for visiting vessels, while CN Sant Antoni de Portmany manages another 400.

As part of PortsIB’s port maintenance and renewal programme, the replacement of floating pontoons 1 and 2 aims to maintain the port’s infrastructure and support its continued operation. The contract allocates €609,000 ($678,000) to construction and €127,890 ($142,000) to value-added tax, excluding waste management costs. The four-month completion period will begin after the site layout verification report is signed.
