Located in Southampton’s waterfront district, Ocean Village Marina offers premium berthing, dedicated superyacht facilities and shoreside amenities, with direct access to the Solent. The marina owner, MDL Marinas, invested £2.2 million into the site across 2024 and 2025, with recent improvements including new south-side pontoons, smart electric meters providing online power control, upgraded concrete pontoons and three-phase electricity for superyacht berths, as well as improved wave attenuation for more comfortable berthing. These developments now enable Ocean Village to host up to 326 vessels up to 80 metres year-round.
The title caps a successful year for MDL Marinas, who also received two awards at the Maritime Solent Awards 2025 – Clean Maritime Innovator and Sustainability Leadership – for its work in reducing emissions, expanding solar infrastructure and implementing BREEAM standards across its marinas.
“We are absolutely thrilled to receive this award,” said Ocean Village marina manager, Lauren Bright. “Ocean Village is a special place to work and this recognition reflects the effort our whole team puts in every day. It’s a wonderful endorsement from the boating community and we are hugely grateful for the support we receive from our berth holders and visitors.”
“We are incredibly proud that Ocean Village has been voted Marina of the Year,” added Tim Mayer, sales and marketing director at MDL Marinas. “Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us. Ocean Village has seen major investment in recent years and it is fantastic to see those improvements recognised and valued by the boating community. We look forward to continuing to enhance the marina for our berth holders and visitors.”
