Norvestor has launched Marina Group, a network of full-service marinas across Sweden and Norway, following the acquisition of five marinas. The move aims to consolidate the fragmented Nordic market for boat services.

The initial portfolio includes the three Marindepån marinas in the Stockholm region, Vindö Marin on Orust on the Swedish west coast and Stathelle Marina in the outer Oslofjord region. These facilities are regional operators in boating services and form the foundation of Marina Group’s operations.
Marina Group provides year-round services, including berthing, boat storage, maintenance and general care, for boat owners across the Nordics. The group also focuses on preserving boat value and ensuring environmental standards are considered in its operations.
The management team combines expertise from the acquired marinas with experience in market consolidation and customer-focused growth strategies. “I am truly excited about the launch of Marina Group and the journey ahead, developing the leading Nordic boat services group,” says Morten Hofstad, co-founder and Executive Chair of Marina Group.
Jan Frode Johansen, co-founder and CEO, added: “By combining local expertise with strong group capabilities and shared best practices, we are creating a platform for sustainable growth that benefits employees, partners and customers alike.”
Per-Ola Baalerud, Partner at Norvestor Advisory said: “For more than a decade, we have been looking for an entry into the fragmented Nordic market for boat services. Norway, Sweden and Finland are all on the top 10 list of countries with the highest number of leisure boats in the world, while the availability of essential year-round services to boat owners is still rather limited and lagging other similar consumer segments in terms of scope, quality and reliability of services.”
Norvestor is a private equity firm in the Nordics and has completed over 100 platform investments and more than 660 add-on acquisitions. The firm focuses on mid-market companies with potential to develop leading positions through organic growth, acquisitions or geographic expansion.
