Work is progressing at Newhaven Marina in East Sussex, England, as Walcon Marine replaces the existing pontoon installation and reconfigures the marina layout ahead of its planned September completion.

Newhaven Marina

Newhaven Marina is located on the western bank of the River Ouse, close to the harbour entrance. It has a chandlery and food and provisions store, along with a 12-tonne hoist, a slipway for launching and parking, with the new layout set to provide almost 250 fully serviced berths.

Walcon Marine provides design, manufacturing and installation services for marinas, as well as maintenance and refurbishment. At Newhaven Marina, the company is installing its System 21 steel-framed pontoons, removing 75 existing timber and steel piles and installing 54 new ones.

The wider works also involve Jenkins Marine, which is carrying out the dredging, while Sureline is supplying and installing the marina’s utilities. The project is progressing in stages, keeping the marina operational throughout the redevelopment.
