The distinguished Na-Ranong family, known for shaping Phuket’s tourism and hospitality landscape, has announced the sale of a deep-water marina site in southern Thailand. The offering presents a timely opportunity for investors as Thailand’s marine tourism sector expands and Phuket continues to strengthen its reputation as a leading yachting destination in Southeast Asia.

Located less than 30 minutes from Phuket Old Town, the waterfront landside spans approximately 6.08 hectares with the capacity of accommodating up to 200 vessels. Another plot of over 7.8 hectares provides space for additional development, such as waterfront residences, a marina, a clubhouse and dry dock facilities.
Krystal Prakaikaew Na-Ranong, owner of The Slate Phuket, said: “Phuket is now firmly on the map as a world-class yachting hub. We are seeing a surge of interest from high-net-worth travellers who are drawn to Thailand’s natural beauty, warm hospitality and unrivalled cruising grounds. This deep-water site offers an extraordinary chance for visionary investors to create something truly iconic and contribute to the growth of an industry that is becoming central to the island’s future.”
Thailand’s yachting tourism sector has seen growth over the past decade, supported by rising interest in superyacht travel across the Asia Pacific. With direct access to the Andaman Sea and a reputation among international sailors, Phuket is positioned to benefit from this increasing demand for marine-based leisure experiences.
The Thai government continues to prioritise marina and cruise liner port projects to support this growth. The Phuket site holds a marine operating license, showing compliance with international safety and environmental standards, which could accelerate development timelines for new investors.
Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat, stated: “Phuket is fast becoming the boating capital of Asia, and we welcome the development of this marina site, which will not only attract more high-spending international tourists, but will considerably enhance Phuket’s economic growth. There is a real need for marina capacity in Phuket to grow and we applaud this development opportunity, which will significantly enhance Thailand’s nautical tourism credentials.”

The Na-Ranong family has been closely linked to Phuket’s transformation into an international travel destination. Krystal’s father, Wichit Na-Ranong, helped introduce the island to global tourism after bringing the production of The Man With the Golden Gun to Phuket in the 1970s. Since then, the family has contributed to the island’s tourism identity through several ventures, including The Slate Phuket, known for its design and connection to local heritage.
“We have always been passionate about Phuket’s future. By making this unique site available, we are opening the door for the next chapter in the island’s tourism evolution. Yachting is no longer a niche pursuit and is becoming one of the most desirable ways to discover Thailand. With the right vision, this marina could become a landmark destination for generations to come,” said Krystal.
Tourism numbers to Phuket are projected to double by 2030, with marina developments expected to play a key role in attracting international visitors and contributing to economic growth.
The marina site is being offered as a long-term lease project or for sale to suitable investors, providing an opportunity to participate in the future of Phuket’s marine tourism sector.
“The potential for uses for this site are limited only by the vision of the buyer and we would be open to working with them to ensure the success of the project. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help shape the future of Phuket and provide new opportunities for tourism and economic growth,” said Krystal.
