Musandam Governorate in Oman signed a memorandum of understanding with Al Sarooj Development Company on 8 October 2026 during the Urban October events in Muscat to cooperate on infrastructure development and tourism investment for the Aims Bay Project in Khasab.

Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Farsi, the Wali (local government administrator) of Khasab, signed the agreement on behalf of Musandam Governorate, alongside Sulaiman Khamis Al Qasmi, chief executive officer of Al Sarooj Construction.
Through the agreement, the project aims to improve infrastructure at Aims Bay and encourage tourism investment by making use of the area’s coastal and marine resources to support local businesses and economic activity. The preliminary plans for the project envision a boat marina along a developed waterfront, supported by tourism and service facilities.
In June 2023, the Aims Bay project was selected as one of three winning proposals in a nationwide competition organised by Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning. The earlier proposal covered 6.87 hectares with plans for Al Khalidiyah Viewpoint, Aims Resort, Aims Marina and Aims Bay to improve infrastructure and connections between Musandam’s districts.
