Work on the six docks at El Alamein New Marina is progressing on Egypt’s Mediterranean North Coast. In its September 2026 update, Marinova Floating Systems reported progress on the concrete pontoons, steel mooring fingers and service equipment across the marina.

Marinova, which combines engineering in the Netherlands with production and installation support in Egypt, said that all 100 main concrete pontoons had been placed in the marina basin and 59 of the 15-metre steel mooring fingers had been installed across the first four docks. Each pontoon measures 12 metres by four metres, with a depth of 1.6 metres, a nominal freeboard of 0.65 metres, reinforced concrete for marine conditions and an EPS buoyancy core.
The marina’s floating layout also includes six shore connections through gangways and landing points. Utility routes provide electricity and water connections for the berths, and the marina package covers lighting, safety ladders, Fire Caddy units, SOS pedestals and sewage pump-out provisions.
Kased Khair serves as the project’s general contractor, handling dredging and piling for the fixed infrastructure under the supervision of the Engineering Authority of the Egyptian Armed Forces. Rolec is also supplying electricity and water pedestals designed to suit different vessel needs, including visible energy-meter readings.
Further work at the site is focused on installing the 20-metre mooring fingers and remaining service equipment to support the marina’s planned capacity of more than 230 berths for vessels up to 36 metres.
Marinova said the marina project is progressing as Egypt develops infrastructure and services for visiting yachts. The Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority launched the “Sail to Egypt” campaign in June 2025, and the government’s Yacht Single Window provides an electronic route for foreign yacht procedures and approvals. In November 2025, the Suez Canal Authority also announced the launch of a 37-metre luxury yacht built by the Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats, adding to Egypt’s domestic boatbuilding activity.
