A manufacturing and sales agreement between Marinetek and Pathumthani Concrete Company (PACO Group) was signed on 7 April 2026 in Thailand, building on a 2025 distribution partnership and introducing local production of concrete pontoons for marina and waterway use.

The signing ceremony was held at the residence of the Finnish ambassador to Thailand and Cambodia, Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos, with representatives from the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning of the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. Songkierti Khunkitti, managing director of PACO Group, and Valtteri Vauramo, chief commercial and technical officer of Marinetek, signed the agreement.
Ruurd van Putten, area director of Marinetek in Southeast Asia, said: “Thailand is a popular yachting destination in Southeast Asia, and it sees increased interest from superyachts that plan to visit the area. Also, for yacht charter and marine related lifestyle activities, the demand is increasing and that results in a steady stream of inquiries for more, better, safer and stronger berthing facilities.”
Marinetek provides floating structures for marinas and waterfronts, including concrete pontoons and breakwaters, with installations in more than 50 countries. The earlier partnership between Marinetek and PACO Group focused on the sale and distribution of imported products in Thailand.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Area authorities and Thailand’s Marine Department have adopted Marinetek’s design standards and specifications for concrete pontoons used in public and government facilities.
Van Putten added: “Globally considered as one of the most durable and strongest pontoon systems, Marinetek concrete pontoons are a perfect fit for this increased demand. With a dedicated manufacturing facility in Thailand, PACO Group and Marinetek are looking forward to successfully serve the market.”

In remarks before the signing, ambassador Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos spoke about Finland’s engineering background and the global presence of companies such as Marinetek. She also acknowledged PACO Group’s role in the partnership and its decision to work with the Finnish company.
