Marinetek Adriatic has signed a contract with LAMDA Development on 14 October to manufacture pontoons for the redevelopment of Agios Kosmas Marina in southern Attica, Greece, which is part of The Ellinikon, an €8 billion ($8.9 billion USD) urban regeneration project transforming the Athens Riviera.

Marinetek Group CEO Karri Kaitue attended the contract signing, joined by the company’s special consultant in Greece, Theofanis Karagiannis, and Marinetek Adriatic managing director Boris Miškić. Also present were LAMDA Development’s senior development director Theodoros Iakovidis, senior contracts manager Antoins Katsanevas and project manager Angelos Mongolias.

Under the agreement, Marinetek Adriatic will manufacture 38 Marinetek Premier series pontoons that will make up six new piers at the marina, each measuring four metres in width. The first batch is scheduled to arrive in February 2027 for installation along the site’s main promenade, and all work is expected to be completed before the start of the new season. The marina is part of The Ellinikon, a major redevelopment transforming the site of Athens’ former international airport into a district featuring residential areas, high-rise towers, hotels, parks, shopping and entertainment facilities.

Marinetek stated: “For our team, being part of a project of this scale and significance is a particular source of pride. Behind every pontoon are people whose knowledge, dedication and experience make our work possible. This contract is a meaningful recognition of everyone who contributes to the quality of what we do, day after day.”
