MarineMax has officially opened the IGY Savannah Harbor Marina on Hutchinson Island along the Savannah River in Georgia, USA. The marina enhances the region’s nautical infrastructure with deep-water access and a full suite of amenities for vessels of all sizes, including superyachts.
Developed in collaboration with Savannah Harbor Partners LLC, the new marina features almost 100 berths, including over 1,100 linear feet of dockage tailored for large yachts. The marina’s location positions it as a convenient stopover for both cruising vessels and transiting superyachts. The facility includes high-speed fueling, shore power, parking, and concierge services, aiming to meet the demands of the modern yachting community.

The marina is part of the wider Savannah Harbor mixed-use development, which includes residential apartments, retail shops, parks and restaurants. The facility is adjacent to the Savannah Convention Center and the Westin Hotel and sits opposite the city centre of Savannah, which is accessible via a short ferry ride. A waterfront restaurant is also planned to complement the site’s amenities, while the nearby Club at Savannah Harbor golf course and spa offer additional leisure options.
Construction of the marina was spearheaded by Myrick Marine Contracting Corporation as the general contractor. Infrastructure includes Meeco Sullivan Wahoo docks in the small boat basin and Marinetek floating concrete pontoons along the riverfront for superyachts.
Island Global Yachting (IGY Marinas), a division of MarineMax and operator of the new facility, announced the project in February 2024. The launch adds Savannah Harbor to IGY’s global portfolio of 23 marinas across 13 countries.
IGY Savannah Harbor Marina fills a market need for superyacht facilities along the US East Coast and also reinforces Savannah’s role in international yachting. With no air draft or depth restrictions and direct river access, the marina offers an accessible and well-connected gateway for visiting yachts.
