Italy’s Marina di Brindisi has officially become a majority-owned facility under the Marinedi Group, one of the Mediterranean’s largest marina operators. The Adriatic port joins a growing network of marinas aimed at delivering standard services to the region’s nautical sector.

Located on Italy’s south-eastern Adriatic coast, Marina di Brindisi serves as a key node for maritime tourism and recreational yachting. With 638 berths ranging from six to 35-metres and capacity for vessels up to 90-metres in length, the marina is equipped with a full range of services. The marina offers 24-hour security, fuel dock, VHF radio support, laundry, Wi-Fi, concierge, parking, a garage, restaurants, shops and a public square featuring an amphitheatre and seasonal event programming.

The acquisition finalises a process that began years ago, when Marinedi stepped in following the financial difficulties of Marina di Brindisi’s former majority shareholder. The intervention helped maintain operational continuity and prevent the revocation of the marina’s state concession. Over the course of three years, the marina saw a revenue increase of more than 90% and an occupancy rate surpassing 80%.

Renato Marconi, CEO and founder of Marinedi Group, said, “This acquisition represents the conclusion of a process that has made it possible to safeguard the future of the port concession company and ensure its development. Today, with full control and financial security in place, we can look to the future with a long-term development plan, which also includes the expansion of berths-particularly for maxi-yachts-strengthening Brindisi as the main hub of the Lower Adriatic and Ionian Sea.”

Chairman of the Marina, Director Claudio Gorelli, stated, “By becoming a full member of the Marinedi Group, the Marina of Brindisi will continue to benefit from the Group’s experience and know-how. In addition, thanks to operational and commercial synergies, the port will be able to continue its growth path, started a few years ago with important results in terms of occupancy, obtained by careful management and the commitment of all employees.”

Marina di Brindisi had already been working with the Marinedi Group prior to the formal acquisition. In October 2022, the marina became the first Marinedi location to join the Aqua superPower marine fast-charging network. The port was selected for its geographical relevance and the group’s broader interest in sustainable marina development.

The acquisition also aligns with Marinedi’s long-term vision of creating an interconnected network of marinas across the Mediterranean. The group was founded in 2013 and now manages marinas across Italy and beyond and offers approximately 5,700 berths. Marina di Brindisi’s inclusion marks a continued effort to elevate service standards while ensuring access to modern, secure and sustainable marina facilities.

By securing full control of Marina di Brindisi, Marinedi reinforces its commitment to quality, innovation and port management across the Mediterranean region.
