The lead developers behind the new Bali Gapura Marina, Marina Development International (formerly known as Marina Development Indonesia), have announced a second project on the neighbouring island of Lombok.
The construction of Belongas Bay Marina is scheduled to start in 2027 and will be located in a natural, protected bay of the same name with a water depth of between 10-15 metres. Unlike Bali Gapura Marina, which was built on reclaimed government land, the new Lombok marina will be constructed on privately owned land. Sources at Marina Development International have confirmed to Marina World that the owner is looking to invest in superyacht refit facilities, a dry dock, a yacht club and luxury villas.
The new marina will be around 90 minutes from Lombok International Airport by car and four hours’ cruising time from Bali Gapura Marina, which opened earlier this year. Further expansions to Bali Gapura Marina are planned over the next two years, with full completion slated for 2028.
