The assessment process for the accreditation involves over 90 criteria, along with direct feedback from berth holders. LYC achieved a score of 95.24%, which reflects the club’s focus on operational quality and client satisfaction.

Located on northeast Lantau Island in Hong Kong, LYC features a typhoon-sheltered marina with 148 berths, including accommodation for superyachts of up to approximately 100-metres in length. The marina includes upgraded water and shore power systems, 5-metre-wide pontoons for two-way golf cart traffic and dedicated services for larger vessels.

The facility has undergone upgrades since its redevelopment began in 2019. In addition to its marina infrastructure, LYC offers a refurbished clubhouse, 24-hour dockside support and member amenities including concierge and private event services. LYC has also been recognised as a Superyacht Ready Marina, manifesting its capability to handle the technical and service requirements of large vessels.

Franklin Mak, Executive Vice President of Hospitality at HKR International Limited, said the accreditation followed years of investment and service improvement. “This dual accreditation represents the culmination of our relentless pursuit of perfection. We are very proud to be Hong Kong’s first 5 Gold Anchor Platinum Marina. Our unparalleled facilities and services, combined with our location at the heart of the Greater Bay Area, create unprecedented opportunities to connect yachting enthusiasts from Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen and beyond.”

The MIA’s assessment report cited the marina’s well-maintained facilities, modern infrastructure and thoughtful design as key strengths. Highlights included its “world-class condition,” “state-of-the-art superyacht infrastructure” and high-quality customer touchpoints such as 24/7 support and bespoke meet-and-greet services.

Lantau Yacht Club’s latest recognition reflects its broader ambition to serve the region’s growing superyacht sector through a combination of modern infrastructure and tailored services. With continued investment in both facilities and services, the club aims to support the development of Hong Kong’s yachting ecosystem while contributing to the city’s positioning in the regional maritime landscape.
