Jönköping marina has 110 berths and is one of two municipal harbours serving recreational boaters in the area, along with the 30-berth Oset harbour in Huskvarna. According to Jönköping Municipality, the existing timber and floating jetties at the site will be replaced, and a new floating structure fitted with Y-shaped mooring fingers will be installed.
Boats previously berthed at the restaurant pier will be transferred to the new jetty, and the municipality will review berth dimensions to accommodate vessels of various sizes, meaning some berth holders may be assigned new spaces. The renovation has also affected access near the marina, as the pedestrian and cycling path closed to through traffic on 5 October, redirecting cyclists between Piren and Lokstallarna via Tändsticksområdet and Järnvägsgatan.
