Bahrain Marina Development Company (BMDC) has named Gagan Suri as its chief executive officer, effective 1 April 2026. He will lead the Bahrain Marina project in Manama through its final development stage and into operations.

Suri has over 25 years of experience across urban development, infrastructure and real estate investment in the Middle East, Europe and North America. He recently held the role of executive director and head of development at Oxagon, where he worked on planning and infrastructure across a large industrial and port setting.
Earlier, he served as chief executive officer and board member of Bahrain Bay, where he led its development into a mixed-use waterfront district with residential, hospitality and commercial elements. His previous experience also includes roles at Arcapita, Saudi National Bank Capital, Credit Suisse and Capmark Finance.
The board of directors of BMDC welcomed the appointment, stating that his international background in large-scale developments will support the project as it enters its next phase. The board also expressed appreciation to Eng. Hisham Almoayyed for his contribution during the early phases of the development.
Suri commented: “I am honoured to join Bahrain Marina at this important stage in its development journey. The project presents a rare opportunity to deliver a world-class waterfront destination that combines modern urban design, advanced infrastructure and a dynamic lifestyle offering. I look forward to working closely with the board and the Bahrain Marina team to realise the project’s vision and further strengthen its presence in regional and international markets.”

The development includes a marina with capacity for 167 vessels and 42 jet skis, along with a slipway and a fuelling station to support marine users. The wider project includes residential properties, hotel accommodation, retail outlets and waterfront dining areas.
As of March 2026, Bahrain Marina Residence has reached 67 percent, while overall progress for the first phase stands at 88 percent.
Suri added that the next phase of development will focus on strengthening the project’s position and attracting international operators in hospitality, retail and leisure.
