Brunswick Corporation’s Freedom Boat Club has opened a new location at Te Ana Marina in Lyttelton, Christchurch. The expansion provides members with access to Lyttelton Harbour and surrounding areas using Sea Ray Boats and Rayglass Boats powered by Mercury Marine engines.

Te Ana Marina is Canterbury’s only walk-on floating marina, offering facilities that allow members to fish, explore bays or cruise along the Banks Peninsula without owning a boat. The new location brings Freedom Boat Club to 13 sites across the Asia-Pacific region.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring Freedom Boat Club to Christchurch and to call Te Ana Marina our newest home. Lyttelton Harbour offers some of the best boating in the country and this location enables us to expand accessibility and deliver a quality on-water experience to new and experienced boaters alike,” said Scott Williamson, Owner of Freedom Boat Club New Zealand.
The marina’s fleet includes the Sea Ray Sun Sport 230, Rayglass Legend 2350 and, for Freedom Local members, the Stabicraft 1850 and Rae Line 186. Freedom Local is a membership tier that provides weekday access at a lower-cost entry point, allowing local boaters an accessible option to use the facilities.
“Freedom Local is our most accessible membership yet, designed specifically for Kiwi boaters who want a simple way to enjoy the water. It opens the door to a boating lifestyle without the need for maintenance, storage or launching – just book, board and boat,” Williamson added.
