Presented during the event “Investing in the Sea, Strengthening Society”, Flisvos Marina, the Public Real Estate Company (ETAD) and the Nautical Club of Palaio Faliro (NOPF) have announced a partnership to secure the sailing club’s continued presence at the marina and provide a framework for its future development.

According to the organisations, the agreement resolves long-standing issues, provides a stable basis for Flisvos Marina’s future development and ensures the club will continue operating from its location within the marina while contributing to Greek water sports.

Stavros Katsikadis, chief executive of LAMDA Marinas Investments S.M.S.A., said the partnership will position Flisvos Marina as an example of sustainable development. He said development is “most meaningful” when it respects the area’s history, considers the environment, supports water sports and contributes to the economy and the local community.

ETAD chief executive Iro Hatzigeorgiou said the company aims to connect the public and private sectors by creating conditions for investments that combine development with social benefits, adding that “cooperation, mutual respect and trust are essential to creating value from public assets”.

NOPF president Tassos Vatistas said the collaboration is important for the club’s future and that the modern infrastructure would create opportunities for the next generation to discover water sports.

As part of the event, European sailing champions Mario Stathas, Eleni Triantou and Eleni Alchanati from NOPF shared their experiences as athletes. They described Flisvos Marina as “their home” and NOPF as their “second family”, saying the club’s presence at the marina is important as they prepare for major competitions.

Located on the Athens Riviera, Flisvos Marina has more than 300 berths, with more than half designed for vessels over 30 metres in length. The marina also offers commercial spaces, including restaurants, cafés, retail shops and offices for yachting businesses, alongside port facilities such as a fuel station, parking, sewage collection stations and a helicopter landing area.
