El Gouna has announced the launch of Marina Island by Tuban in its coastal town on Egypt’s Red Sea, with the development led by Orascom Development Egypt as it builds on the town’s existing marina network and waterfront-focused urban layout.

The project is located in the centre of Tuban, an area designed around water channels and interconnected neighbourhoods across the district. The development includes a working marina alongside residential and commercial spaces, waterfront dining and retail areas.

Mohamed Amer, CEO of El Gouna and managing director at Orascom Development Egypt, said: “El Gouna Red Sea was always built around water. That is not a feature of the town, it is its character. Over 36 years, El Gouna has set the standard for residential living on the Red Sea, and Marina Island is the fullest expression of that yet.”

Marina Island by Tuban is expected to reflect El Gouna’s architectural approach, shaped through collaborations with international and regional architects including Michael Graves, Alfredo Freda and Shehab Mazhar.

El Gouna Red Sea is located near Hurghada International Airport and extends along roughly 10 kilometres of coastline. The community includes homes, hotels, healthcare services, schools, golf courses, co-working spaces and retail facilities within one urban structure.

The town also has a marina network that includes Abu Tig Marina, Fanadir Marina and Abydos Marina. These locations support yacht berthing and diving activity, with 660 berths for vessels up to 70 metres in length and a marina area spanning six hectares with four breakwaters.
