Marina Ibiza and STP Shipyard Palma, both managed by IPM-IMG Marine Group, have been recognised by the Monaco Yacht Show’s Blue Wake programme for two sustainability projects. Developed with the Water Revolution Foundation, the programme highlights initiatives that demonstrate measurable environmental benefits for the yachting industry.

At Marina Ibiza, the project focuses on the ecological restoration of Posidonia oceanica in Talamanca Bay. The marina is working with the Vellmarí Association, founded by National Geographic explorer and marine biologist Manu San Félix, on the Marina Ibiza Posidonia Meadow project.

The initiative includes plans to plant 1,500 Posidonia shoots in 2026 to support the recovery of the bay’s seagrass habitat, where almost half of the original meadow has disappeared over recent decades. Yacht owners, captains, clients and visitors can also adopt newly planted shoots as part of the restoration effort.

Turning to energy efficiency, STP Shipyard Palma has expanded its renewable energy programme since 2021 by increasing its solar power capacity through photovoltaic installations across its facilities.

The shipyard has also introduced battery storage systems and renewable energy-powered charging stations for electric vehicles, alongside a recent solar installation on the roof of its new changing rooms and public toilets. Together, these measures are reported to have prevented 587 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions.

Both sustainability projects will be showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026.
