Vietnam has officially launched its first international-standard yacht marina in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa Province, after authorities granted Ana Marina the international port code “VNANA.” The milestone follows two years of pilot operations and marks a step towards making Vietnam a global luxury yachting destination.

As Vietnamnet Global reported, Ana Marina occupies over 89 hectares, including 68 hectares of sheltered water, and offers berthing for up to 220 yachts. Since its opening in April 2023, the marina has hosted 2,000 domestic and international voyages and served over 60,000 passengers. The marina’s capacity and facilities adhere to standards set by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA).

Located along Vietnam’s south-eastern coast, Ana Marina provides access to cruising grounds in Nha Trang Bay and connects easily to regional yachting destinations such as Hong Kong, Sanya, Singapore and the Philippines. The local climate features a nine-month dry season and minimal typhoon activity, making the area ideal for year-round cruising.

Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, a global marina planning and management firm, designed the facility. Engineers conducted hydrology and bathymetry assessments, along with weather modelling, to create a layout built to last at least 50 years. Marinetek supplied the pontoons, reinforcing the marina’s infrastructure with durable and advanced solutions.
Ana Marina Nha Trang Joint Stock Company, part of Focus Travel Group, developed the marina to serve both yacht owners and marine tourism operators. The facility offers metered power and potable water supply, fuel services, 24-hour security surveillance, Wi-Fi, laundry and buggy transport. The marina also provides support for immigration services, repair and maintenance, as well as provisioning.

According to Vietnamnet Global report, Co-owner of Focus Travel Group, Dang Hieu Minh, said the international designation lays “a critical foundation for developing international sailing routes and positioning Vietnam on the global luxury yachting map.”

The launch forms part of Khanh Hoa Province’s wider tourism strategy. The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism expects Ana Marina to strengthen Nha Trang’s position as a travel destination and support international sailing regattas and maritime events. Authorities aim to welcome 11.8 million visitors in 2025, including 5.2 million international tourists, and project tourism revenue to reach 60 trillion VND or about $2.4 billion USD.
